For a really professional finish to your foam board prints, decide at the design stage how you will hang your foam board so we can advise on the best way to integrate your chosen hanging method with the design – for example coordinating nail ends that blend into your design colour scheme, or pre-drilled holes for hanging.

What is Foamex Board?
Foamex is a lightweight, rigid PVC foam board with a smooth surface, making it a popular choice for cost-effective indoor and outdoor signage.
How big can my foam board be?
Our maximum single-sheet size is 2440mm × 1220mm (8 × 4ft). Larger designs can be printed across multiple panels, which can be positioned next to each other to create one larger image.
What thickness do I need?
3mm Foamex: lightweight and cost-effective
Our thinnest option is light, budget-friendly and ideal for temporary indoor signs and displays. It has a little flex, so it works best when fixed flat to a wall or displayed at smaller sizes. It can also be hung as it is very lightweight.

5mm Foamex: the all-rounder
Our most popular thickness. 5mm is noticeably more rigid than 3mm, but still light enough to fix with screws, double-sided tape or Velcro. It handles larger sizes well and suits both indoor and short-to-medium-term outdoor use.

10mm Foamex: rigid and premium
When you want a sign with real presence, 10mm delivers. It provides extra rigidity for larger signs and gives a solid, high-quality finish. It is also great for shapes and lettering cut to size, where the depth adds a 3D effect.

• Cut-out logos and lettering
• Reception and feature signs
• Freestanding displays and cut-out figures with suitable bases or supports
• Larger panels that need extra rigidity
• Signs mounted on stand-off fixings
• Premium displays for retail, events and exhibitions

What resolution do you print Foamex boards at?
We print all our Foamex signs at a high resolution of 1440dpi in full colour.
Where do you drill holes into your Foamex boards?
Drill holes are placed 20mm in from the corners using a 6mm drill bit. Please ensure important information on your artwork avoids these areas.
Can you cut Foamex boards to a custom shape?
Yes! We ask that you provide cut paths with your artwork file for our cutter to follow. Your artwork and desired shape must also be suitable for Foamex, but we will always advise if there are any issues. If you cannot create cut paths, just let us know what shape you want your board cut to in the order instructions, and our designers will do the rest.
How do I order a Foamex sign?
To place an order online, simply select your options and upload your artwork, or choose our design service on this page and proceed through checkout.
What format should my artwork be in?
Please read our guidelines for supplying artwork. Generally, we just require a PDF at the exact size you have ordered. Do not worry about adding bleed or any extra marks; our pre-press team will do that for you.
Can I upload more than one image per order?
If you are ordering more than one Foamex board of the same size and have various pieces of artwork to supply, our uploader will allow you to add as many images as you need to complete your order.
Can you colour match?
Our printers produce CMYK images, and artwork supplied in this format will be printed with the colour values stated. We also offer a personalised colour matching service. Please contact our sales office, who will guide you through the process.
Can you create my artwork?
Yes, we can either create or make amendments to your artwork. Select our design service to allow time for our designer to follow your instructions. We will provide a proof for your approval before any print is produced.
What is lamination?
Lamination is an additional layer of protective film applied to the surface of your Foamex board. It helps protect against scuffs and scratches, making it particularly useful for boards displayed in high-traffic areas.
We offer matt or gloss lamination. Gloss lamination also offers some protection against graffiti and can be used with dry-wipe pens to create custom whiteboards or planners.
If you do not require lamination, do not worry. Our Foamex boards are still UV stable, weatherproof and suitable for outdoor display.
Can I collect from store?
If it is convenient for you to collect or arrange collection from our factory in Manchester, you can select this option during checkout.
