How do Backlit Posters Work?
Backlit posters are designed for use with a framed light box. They are printed on special semi-transparent media that is coated with a thin film that ensures that light in distributed evenly through your poster. The result is a stunning poster that glows. Backlit posters are usually printed in large format so that they can be clearly seen during the day or at night.
Why Choose a Backlit Poster?
In comparison with traditional printed posters, backlit posters have much more definition – even from a distance viewers will be able to see the fine details, colours and contrasts of your poster design. Because the poster is lit from behind and therefore glows it’s perfect for situations when you want your poster to be visible at night too. This style of poster is often used in cinemas but is also a great choice for spaces such as airports, shopping malls, storefronts and restaurants. Such is the exceptional quality of backlit posters, photographers often display backlit poster prints of their work in art galleries.

What are backlit posters used for?
Backlit posters have many applications, such as outdoor signage, retail displays, restaurant menu boards, trade show displays, promotional posters, and kiosk signs.
What is a light box?
A light box is another name for an illuminated poster frame that backlit posters are usually displayed in. They snap open to make changing the posters easy, and have LEDs built in to the backing board to give real impact when powered on. We offer a full range of light boxes for indoor and outdoor use. Simply select one of the standard sized posters to see the matching frame.
What type of light box do I need?
We offer two options:
Indoor:
With a super-slim 12mm profile, this is our most popular lightbox and is ideal for general display in high traffic areas or when space is at a premium. The sleek 25mm frame gives a contemporary feel and the lightbox is available in a range of sizes from A3 to A0 making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Eco-friendly LED technology provides cost-effective, safe and reliable illumination while the simple snap-front frame makes it simple to load and exchange graphics.

Also available in a range of sizes, this robust lightbox features a chunky 46mm frame and is waterproof for outdoor use. The simple snap frame design makes it easy to load and change graphics and a heavy duty poster cover ensures fantastic performance in all weathers. LED backlighting offers a highly effective yet low-cost way to make your graphics really pop.
